Birthday Blue & White Wishes

I wish I had a birthday coming up.  It is in fact nowhere near my birthday.  I will be having a baby before my next birthday, so it's really a ways away.  This is unfortunate only because I have a lot of things I want right now.  Over the past few weeks I've been wasting time online scouting all of the things I would buy myself for Mother's Day/Kip's Birthday/Fourth of July/Tuesday.  It's getting bad.  I know it's just from being stuck indoors for so long and I really don't need all of this stuff.  Sooo once again (see Tuesday's post) I want to share them with you so you can get them!

This time it's all blue and white lovelies.

First, this blue and white toile tablecloth from Williams-Sonoma.  I saw it in person at the store and I fell in love.  I don't have a table to go under it, but maybe I can wrap up Little Robertson in it to bring him home from the hospital.

They also have placemats in this pattern, as well as coasters, napkins and a table runner.  They know a good thing when they have it.  I would just like a big roll of this fabric please.

Next up, this Hadley Pottery Sweet Tea Pitcher.  I posted long ago about my love for Hadley.  I want some more and this would be a perfect way to start off summer.  Kip and I love sweet tea in all it's sugary goodness.  We both have the drinking habits of 9-year-olds i.e. fruit punch, suicide fountain drinks, Jolt (just kidding on the last two).

And this, this blue and white Anthropologie eyelet embroidered sheet set, this makes me happy, happy, happy (it's a Robertson thing).

Finally, this John Derian Melamine Charger is so unbreakable and pretty.  Two things I love.

So there you have it.  My deepest wants and desires at the moment.  You're welcome.

ALSO, huge thank you to all of the great advice on my Gas Lantern post!  When I asked Kip if we had a gas line yesterday, he looked at me just like Nick Lachey looked at Jessica Simpson when she asked if Chicken of the Sea was chicken or tuna.

Sooo I guess we have one that we can use for the lanterns?

I'll keep you updated!

Feelin' the Love & Suzeday Tuesday is coming back!

Morning y'all! This is how I'm feeling this morning. Thank you so much for all of your sweet comments yesterday, both here and over at The Enchanted Home!  Tina is just about the sweetest blogger out there and her readers are clearly just as wonderful.  It's all rainbows and puppies and hearts and baby laughs in blogland and I love it!

After a short hiatus, Suzeday Tuesday is making it's return starting next week.  But here's a little bit of pure genius that I found at the top of the stack.

D Home 2009

Whaat? A champagne bucket built into the countertop?  I'm guessing when The Suze saw this she had to set down her morning mimosa to take a closer look.  Then I imagine she flew into a panic and made 25 copies just in case she loses one (she does that often).  I think in reality it may be just a sink filled with ice, but The Suze doesn't live in reality so for our purposes it is a special countertop for the bubbly.  Who am I to crush a dream? What do you think?

Anyway, I have quite a few magazine pages to sift through and organize before I can do a proper Suzeday Tuesday post.

I'm excited to see what she has in store for us! Finally, a reminder to enter my Hadley Pottery Giveaway! Below you can see the new pieces that just arrived at my doorstep.  I'm so excited!

The Viking War Lord is pretending to happily eat his breakfast for the camera.*

*Oh heeyy Edward! Are you going to eat that? No, don't take it out of your mouth. No, don't give it to the dog.  Oh, you want your water? Here you go. No don't throw it! Oh no, no don't rub the banana in your hair. Ok, fine, you can have some Cheerios. Oh you don't want that either? How about some strawberries? Nope?

Feeding a toddler is fun.

Hadley: The first blue and white

Morning y'all! So on Monday I posted these loverly rooms from the fabulous Leta Austin Foster and she happened to see it and left a comment! Squee! If y'all haven't visited her blog Decorating With Sheets, you must. She's obviously a seasoned, very established designer so to be able to see a glimpse into what inspires her is incredibly valuable to someone like me who is really just learning about design.

Soo as I was flipping through Miss Foster's section of the Farrow & Ball: The Art of Color book (it's such a beautiful book), I stopped at this kitchen:

Of course, it's lovely and totally my style, but upon closer inspection I noticed that the owners had Hadley Pottery above the stove!

I grew up with Hadley Pottery! My grandmother collected it and passed it down to my mom, and so on the rare occasion I see it in someone else's home, I feel a sense of family that only Hadley collectors understand.

Edward's First Hadley: Gifts from The Suze
(Notice my husband has used Edward's mug to store his golf tees).  According to the Hadley Pottery web site, it began after Mary Alice Hadley created a set of custom dishes for her family's houseboat on the Ohio River in 1939.  It was such a hit among friends and family that she turned it into a business (such a modern woman).

The extremely durable pottery is still made in Louisville, Kentucky using clay native to Kentucky and Indiana.  What was once only available in little boutiques across the country is now available on their web site (hurray!)  They have so many adorable and whimsical patterns to choose from and they're fun to mix and match.

They even do custom work

The signature "Hadley Blue" started our family's original love of all things blue and white.  This will always be sentimental to me and a true family heirloom (or my middle name isn't Hadley*).  In fact, I'm going to steal The Suze's collection start my own collection so my children will know the joy of eating on Hadley Blue just as I did.**

As a kid this was my favorite bowl

* And yes, my middle name is Hadley.
** Mom, that means pack up what you're not using and send it to me.

So, tell me, are there any other Hadley collectors out there? I'd love to see how you use it in your home!
