Happiness is Blue & White and Leontine Linens

Morning y'all! Have you seen the super fun and bright home of Jane Lilly Warren in this month's Matchbook Magazine?  It's definitely worth a look, especially if you're having the winter crazies like yours truly (seriously, I'm turning into a total coocoobird these days).

Her bedroom totally got me.  It was like taking a happy pill and washing it down with champagne.

Obviously, I spotted the blue and white walls and Leontine Linens and got teary-eyed.  I dream of Leontine.  I love the chartreuse with the blue and white (I think lavender would look really pretty as well).  I also love the bright yellow drummer boy lamps on her dresser.  I can't imagine ever being sad in a room like this.

P.S. For all you renters out there, the wallpaper is EasyChange Removable Wallpaper from Sherwin-Williams! The pattern is Kathy Ireland Grand Estates EasyChange SW8EG5382  It's such a great way to add color and texture without harming the walls.

Blue & White in Matchbook

Morning y'all! I got so excited about all of the prettiness in this month's Lonny (here and here and here) that I forgot to post on some of the blue and white prettiness I saw in the latest issue of Matchbook.  So here 'tis!

First, there's this silly little "Setting the Thanksgiving Table" bit where they pair a table setting with an outfit to match.  I appreciate the creativity and prettiness for page layout purposes even though matching your outfit to your table is a little ridiculous.  But I loved everything on this page: the blue and white mixed with the polka-dot china, silver and white turkeys (or as Edward calls them "tookeys").

Unfortunately, I would never wear a dress that fancy for Thanksgiving even though it's super cute.  Thanksgiving is not a joke y'all.  It requires special stretchy pants and/or and muumuu a la Mrs. Roper.  Does Valentino make muumuus?

Moving on, I loved this Savannah townhouse apartment from Robyn Mizrach McClelland.

Love all of the color, chinoiserie and mixed elements - lots of pretty things on display (on display, on display).  Also loving how she styled the fireplaces.

And finally, Matchbook tells you how you can get the look

And I'm telling you, there's a plethora of gift ideas right there.  A plethora.

(this is literally where I learned the word plethora

The Well Appointed House in Matchbook

Morning y'all! The June issue of Matchbook Magazine arrived in my inbox yesterday.  I've been feeling kind of "meh" about all magazines lately, online and in print.  All I really want is pretty pictures that inspire me.  So I was happy to see a glimpse into the 100 year old home of Melissa Hawks, founder of The Well Appointed House, one of my favorite online resources for fancy house stuff.

This is exactly the color palette I want for our new home - light, fresh and lots of blue and white! I remember when Melissa wrote a blog post on reusing the Gracie wallpaper she has in her dining room.  Total genius move.  I love all of these rooms so much!

You can read the June issue of Matchbook here

We got to visit the new house yesterday for a few minutes to take some measurements.  The current owners were nice enough to grant us access to the house once a week.  I happen to notice the lady of the house had a design book opened and tabbed.  I'm pretty sure we have similar styles.  I think we need to be friends, but I don't want to freak her out.  In other news, we've had the windows washed, the carpet cleaned and this weekend we are having the kitchen floors refinished and stained.  Just a few more tweaks from a handyman and our house will be ready to put on the market! While I hope it sells fast, it could mean we are homeless for the next few months so that will be interesting.  It's all an adventure though with a majorly awesome light at the end of the tunnel so I refuse to stress too much about the unknowns.  Ok, I have to go clean and organize.  Have a lovely day!
