Happy Election Day!

Morning y'all! I love this shot of the Writing Room at The Greenbrier (Matchbook Magazine Feb 2012).  I feel this style embodies the state of our nation at the moment * - "Punchy American," if you will.  Yes, that's a style.  I just made it up. And I want it somewhere in my house.  Specifically, the chintzy chair, that over the top federal style mirror, and the ornate fire-place.

I plan on doing what I imagine most American moms will be doing today - voting and then going to Costco.  I'll spare y'all the lecture about voting as I'm sure most of you who read my blog could tell me a thing or two about the privilege of voting. Y'all's is way smart.  I hope you have a lovely day! And may the odds be ever in your favor :)

* Careful analysis of my Facebook & Twitter feeds informed this scientific opinion about our nation's mindset.  That's what four years of Journalism school and three years of Law school will do for you.

Enjoy the Green

Headed to the park today and then Edward is spending the day with his Great Grandmother!  How pretty are these prints by Montreal-based photographer Irene Suchocki.  They can be found on Etsy here and here. I have been obsessed with landscapes lately, mostly of the oil painting variety, but these photographs could easily find a place in my home.  I love having botanical prints and landscapes in my home because I'm a horrible plant mom and thus rarely have plants and flowers in the house for very long.  Seriously, I'm the worst.  I just don't have a feel for keeping plants alive.  It's bizarre because I come from a family of gardeners and I'm always accused of being a mother hen so you'd think I'd be a great plant nurturer.  But nope. They all die. It's depressing.

Uh, ok on that note, I'm heading to the park to enjoy the last moments of green before fall.  Have a lovely day y'all!

Craving Boxwood Green

I'm ready for dreary winter to go away and the bare trees to once again be covered with lush green.  I am currently trying to think of a room in my house I can paint green or better yet, cover the walls with green velvet.  Maybe the dining room? It's currently red, a color I'm not really good with when it comes to decor.  As you can see above, blue and white really stands out against the green.  Hmmmm.....

What's that sound? Oh that's just the sound of my husband banging his head against the wall as I try to repaint another room in my house.
