Suzeday Tuesday: Dressing Rooms & Vanities

I was a very vain little child.  I already shared how I cried the first time my mom did my make-up because I couldn't believe how beautiful I looked.  She also used to get me to eat my vegetables by telling me they would make my hair curly and shiny or my cheeks rosy.  I probably would have made a good pageant child.

Then I hit the awkward stage...hard ( I promise when I find a good pic I'll share it). Thank God I did, otherwise I wouldn't have developed my smarts and stellar personality.  I would have just coasted on my beauty.  The Suze and I both still love our make-up and products and pretty clothes.  Soo here are The Suze's dressing room and vanity inspiration files.

The New Trad Home

So Lonny Magazine and Traditional Home spawned a giant baby digital mag they cleverly call Trad Home.  I say giant because it is long, like really long to the point where it began to test the limits of my ADD.  I like the new magazine.  I'm just not so sure it offers what I am looking for, which is basically Southern Accents.  I have a feeling I'll be waiting around for awhile for something like that to come back (although Veranda is showing potential to keep my love tank partially full).  Sigh....

That being said, y'all should still check out the new Trad Home.  There were lots of things I really liked in the magazine.  Upon first glance, these are the images that jumped out at me.  I need to go back and actually read it now.

Gray & White Striped Nursery (Loves it ... obvi) Perhaps, this belongs to my son's female counterpart and future wife?

Fun Kid's Playroom.  I love the colors and all the soft corners so when your kid crash lands while playing Superman, he won't get hurt.

Jeff Andrews
Elegant and Classic.  I love the soft color palette and the two stripes detail on the sofa.

*Edit: I realized I sounded really grumpy in this post.  I actually really liked the magazine, probably more than any other online magazine, and did not convey that very well.  That's what happens when I blog after a long day of organizing.  I also tried to tell my husband how much I loved him, but instead the words that came out of my mouth were something to the effect of, "why are you standing so close to me?"

Vanity

I absolutely love this vanity I found on Matters of Style. I love the skirt, the framing on the drawers  and the pretty silver picture frames.  This is for sure going in my Dream Home file.  I've always wanted a vanity, a place to sit and do my make-up in peace while pretending I'm a rich movie star.  I love doing my make-up*.  I find process of transformation very relaxing so having a lovely little place devoted to my beauty rituals would be another ultimate luxury for me.

*When I was little, my mom did my make-up for the first time. When she turned me around to look in the mirror, I started crying because I couldn't believe how beautiful I looked.  Seriously. What a piece of work right? The Suze often played to my vanity as a child by telling me that eating my vegetables would give me shiny hair or eating the crust would make my cheeks rosy.  It worked too! I was actually pretty vain as a little girl until I went careening into the awkward stage, thus forcing me to develop my stellar personality.
