Pale Blush Ombre Pillow
I'm back-ish. We turn around and leave for Charleston in a couple of days so I don't know how much blogging I'll get to do this week (I know, we're insane and lucky). I'm feeling more inspired about the direction I want to go with things in my house, but I'm also trying to hold off on purchases until we find out whether Little Robertson is of the male or female variety (10 more days!). Obviously, if it's a girl we will be sitting down and outlining our bankruptcy plans. Haaaaaaaaaa just kidding Kip (not really). If it is a boy, well, I'm doing the guest room pink and he can enjoy an already beautiful nursery full of blue and white.
However, I just happened to find this pale blush ombre pillow at Target (because apparently I live there as well). Here it is in our guest room. Yes, I got all fancy with the iphone pic, but with the filter it shows the color better. I love it. Very simple. I also have some Audubon prints I plan on framing and putting above the bed. I'm just trying to decide on the frame. I'm actually horrible at framing things. I don't know why, but I just can't figure it out. I also hate having to spend $1 million dollars getting something framed (that might be my problem).
So that's all I've got today. I'm working on a plan to do a big house clean out and possible blog sale for stuff that is nice, but I don't have a place for. Would y'all be interested in that? I'm a little nervous The Suze will see it and buy it all and then send it back to me with a note saying, "you didn't really want to sell this, did you?"
Have a lovely day!
Have a Lovely Pinkend!

I mean, can you even handle that ceiling and chandelier? I can't. I just can't. It's too beautiful. Also, how Andy Cohen WWHL was my blog post title? What are your plans this weekend? I'm hoping to get back to our new favorite antique shop to pick up a desk for our future library/office. I'm also hoping to find something for Edward's big boy room. It's coming along nicely, but needs quite a bit more before it's ready to show. He loves it so far. It is very "jungle meets scholarly dorm room in Scotland meets dinosaur times." Sounds insane right?
Ok, I'm not one to get political or religious on here because this blog's not that deep y'all. BUT I just have to share this. On Monday, the pastor at my church had the honor of giving the sermon at the Inaugural Prayer Service. Regardless of your political affiliation or religious beliefs, I think it's something worth watching, so I'm including the link at the top of my weekend links. It is a really great message for how we can move forward as a country after this pretty divisive election.

Pale Blush Bedroom Love!
Morning lovelies! After reading my Belclaire House Color of the Year post, the super sweet Kimberly Schlegel Whitman pointed me to her pale blush guest room done by one of my favorite Dallas designers, Jan Showers.
Umm yes ma'am! The monochromatic color scheme is so soothing and I love the tufted, lucite bench. Also, how fun are the monogrammed pillows? I love finding different ways to display a monogram and this allows the monogram to peek out while also allowing for some throw pillows. Very genius :) I could totally take a long, luxurious nap in here!*
*Y'all, sometimes I think about weird things I would do if I became a crazy person and lost all touch with reality. A lot of it involves taking naps in other people's pretty bedrooms. 'Cause. That's. Not. Weird. At. All. I thought about this a lot when I was 7-months post-partum and had not one, single night of five straight hours of sleep. I'm sure some of y'all remember how I basically only posted pictures of beds. I looked at pictures of beds with the same level of enthusiasm and desperation as a tween stalking Justin Bieber's Instagram. It was a special time.

Pink and Red
Morning y'all! In case you missed it, I dramatically announced my color of the year pick for 2013, Pale Blush. It's purely for selfish reasons that I make this declaration, but it sounds like y'all are with me. In the comments, Zanetastyle and I briefly chatted about pale blush and red and how it's basically the only way to do red. Don't get me wrong, if you have red in your house, I don't judge. I actually love it in other people's homes because they probably do it better than I can, I'm just not a big red person as I've said before. (You'll laugh when you see Edward's big boy room because it actually has a lot of red so I'm basically a big fat liar).
So here's a few pink and red images that I lurve.
Obvi, this is also very appropriate for Valentine's Day (remember when Jessica Simpson called it Valentime's Day on Newlyweds?)

Belclaire House 2013 Color of the Year
Pantone, the apparent authority on color, has declared Emerald to be the color of the year. Chinoiserie Chic, one of my favorite blogs, declared her pic for color of the year is Navy. Benjamin Moore, one of my favorite paint lines, declared Lemon Sorbet, their pick for color of the year.
Sooo without further ado, by the power vested in me by absolutely no one, my color pick for 2013 is ...
Like the pale peachy pink of ballet slippers.

PALE BLUSH!

Basically, this is just a really dramatic way for me to show a whole lotta pink for y'all this cold Monday morning. But it's also the color I can't get out of my head. I need it in my life. And I don't think it always has to be super girly. It's just warm and glowy and happy. My dream is to use my favorite Farrow & Ball Pink Ground or Benjamin Moore's Blanched Coral in our library with creamy trim and bookshelves and a big tufted camel leather sofa. If a certain event happens that I will tell you about in the coming weeks, then I've worked out a deal with Kip that I get my pink library.
So here's some more lovely pale blush indulgence to really drive home the color I'm seeing in my head when I close my eyes ....
So now that I've made my proclamation, I will be actively seeking out this color. I'll try and bring you something weekly, like maybe pink Tuesdays? We'll see. I may be too ADD to remember to do it. Ok y'all, I have to go do 675 loads of laundry now.
See more of my favorite pink moments here
P.S. I would just like to go on record that Edward's favorite color is also pink right now. I know, I'm so proud. He goes for all of the pink toys. In fact, the other day he went with his Grandpa to Dick's Sporting goods and managed to con him into buying him a Pink Panther golf head cover that he now sleeps with every night. I'm not looking forward to the day that someone tells him boys aren't supposed to like pink. I know it will happen, but he won't hear it from me. Besides, I love a man in pink. I will raise him to love and respect pink as the awesome perfect color that it is :)

I Need A Moment
to marinate in this.
Marinate Y'all.
Overnight.
Maybe over 2 nights because I'm still not feeling great, hence needing a moment.
I first saw this over at The Glam Pad but I believe it's originally from House Beautiful.
Anyway, I love it.
Have a Lovely Weekend!

Pale Pink Bedroom Love

It's no secret I desperately want to paint something pink in the new house. I love the way it's used in the bedroom above. It's so warm and when combined with neutral colors and lots of textures, the pink doesn't look too froo froo. Don't get me wrong, I love froo froo, but I have a husband who definitely does not. I've been trying to get Kip to envision a library in this color with cream bookcases, a big leather chesterfield sofa, brass hardware and light fixtures and our piano. I think were I go wrong is actually saying the word, "pink." I'm thinking I should go with the more

Pinning Pink
I'm not gonna lie, I'm having a brain cramp today and couldn't think of anything to post so I stared at my Pins for awhile. I'm preoccupied because I'm about to be kicked out of my kitchen for three days, which is way stressful. But the floors need to be refinished before we put the house on the market or people are going to walk in and be like, "aw naw mayn" (I don't know what kind of people I'm imagining will be looking through our house, but I'm sure they wouldn't appreciate orange parquet floors). So anyway, I often think pink when I'm slightly stressed. As much as I love my blue and white, pink is actually my favorite color. It's like candy for me. I just need a little to put me in a great mood. So I wasn't surprised when I stared at my Pinterest boards and realized I'd been pinning pink for that last few days.
I love this pink wallpaper! Of course, it was on Pinterest and I can't track the source of the image. If anyone knows what wallpaper this is lemme know!
I love this gold hippo from High Street Market next to the pink flowers. I might rename her Jessica (apparently her name is Janet). No, not after my bestie J. Simps, after Jessica the Hippo, the most awesomest pet in the world.
Pink Grapefruit Margaritas from Ina Garten, Queen of all things delicious and fab.
Pop of Pink from Pinterest (love the settee and light fixture)
Ahh, I already feel more relaxed and upbeat! Have a lovely day y'all!

She is scrumptious, isn't she? The Suze and my little sister were having a very hard time with the sudden loss of our beloved Casserole, who was quite the force to be reckoned with. She jumped, she barked, she put all of the dog toys in her mouth at once, she'd run away with your bra or a block of cheese daring you to chase her. While little Ella will never be able to replace Cassie's silly personality, I believe that she will be able to help mend the gaping hole in everyone's hearts with her coffee-smelling puppy breath, soft round tummy and loving cuddles.
See the clumsiness...
So delish!
And now for one last pink moment,
