Have a lovely weekend!

Oscar de la Renta via Mark D. Sikes

Hello lovelies! So much going on in the image above, but I kind of love it.  Are those giant lamp shades pale blush?  Because if so, well, then I die.  And then I come back to life and manically search the internet at 3 a.m. until I find a pair for myself.  This weekend I have a lot of house stuff to do, but since the weather is supposed to be beeeyoooootiful, I probably won't do any of it.

I hope y'all have a fantastic weekend!

Enjoy these linkies with some springtime drinkies!

Check Ya Later! Have a Lovely Weekend/Week!

Hello friends! I'm taking a little break from my blog for Spring Break 2013 Panama City MTV Party Times.  Just kidding.  I did that in 2000.  Now I'm way more ma-tour and appreciate things like nice accommodations and people wearing more clothes and less cologne.  But for real, I am taking a little family vacay to Palm Springs (Slim Aarons-style), away from the cold and stresses of trying to find something fun to do when it's snowy outside.  I may check in if I'm so inspired and I think it's worth your time (I mean, I know we all love seeing my vacation photos).

In the meantime, I have a huge favor to ask y'all.

My sweet Kip is a candidate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Man and Woman of the Year campaign.  I'm asking y'all to visit his page and make a donation to help in the fight against blood cancer.  We're also looking for sponsors and donations for the auction, so if you are interested in helping in that respect please contact me and we can set something up.  Any little bit will help and ultimately it's for a really great cause.  I'll have a link on the side of this page for the remainder of the campaign so if you have a couple extra dollar bills you can spare, well we'd surely appreciate it!

Follow this link to make a donation!

Have A Marchy March Weekend!

Slim Aarons - Poolside Gossip

It's March.  This is when I start pretending I live in a Slim Aaron's world (particularly Slim Aarons' Palm Springs-style).   This is going to be an incredible month.  We have a trip to Palm Springs and Charleston happening AND we find out if we're having a boy or a girl at the end of the month!  I'm hoping that our trips re-inspire me.  Being cooped up inside has done very little to motivate me blog-wise, hence the light postings this week.  So here's to March being a little more inspired (somebody please go have a mimosa for me right now.  Right now.)

Enjoy a few of these linkies, with champagne drinkies!

Have a lovely weekend y'all!

Hello Team! Well, we're snowed in today.  Edward refuses warmth and safety so we are not likely to play in the snow today, but it's very pretty to look at.  We don't have much going on this weekend, especially with all of this snow.  Normally, I would have a nice little food binge on days like this, but I'm still pretty nauseated.  I've come to terms with the fact that I could be sick this entire pregnancy.  On the bright side, maybe I won't gain the 50+ lbs I did with Edward because, let me tell you, that was uncomfortable.  Ok, I'm babbling on.  Enjoy your weekend!

I'm obsessed with the above Designer's Guild fabric.  I need somewhere in my house stat.

Have a Lovely (Pretend You're At The Beach) Weekend

Y'all, I'm dying for summer and/or a beach.  It looks like summer outside and then I walk out the door and it's all freeeeeezing! In the words of Stephanie Tanner, "How rude."  So sometimes when I'm feeling cabin fever I get on Jetsetter and pretend I'm planning a quick getaway in my private jet to somewhere fancy.  Has anyone ever been to The Peninsula House in the Dominican Republic?  It looks pretty wonderful if you ask me, but I'm, only going by pictures, which is how I pretty much judge everything.  Anyway, I hope you have a lovely weekend! Enjoy these linkies!

I'm tempted to order one of these Target ruffled maternity dresses in every color
Rant:  How super annoyed are y'all with the Target Designer series?  Everything is so cheaply made, and I find it somewhat insulting.  I don't know why it's bothering me so much.

Have a Loverly Weekend!

via Lonny

Hello Team! It's Friday again.  I can't believe it's been a week since I made my big announcement!  I'm still feeling sick so hopefully only another week of these pregnancy shenanigans.  We don't have a lot going on this weekend.  The Suze is still in town and she has literally done over 25 loads of laundry.  No one can explain how this happend or how we had clothes to wear when the laundry was dirty.  But seriously, having someone come in and do my laundry is pretty much the greatest thing to ever happen to me (in my mind right now), so thanks Mom!!

Enjoy these linkies with some drinkies (especially some drinkies because I can't have any until AUGUST!!)

I mean, can you even handle that ceiling and chandelier?  I can't.  I just can't.  It's too beautiful.  Also, how Andy Cohen WWHL was my blog post title?  What are your plans this weekend?  I'm hoping to get back to our new favorite antique shop to pick up a desk for our future library/office.  I'm also hoping to find something for Edward's big boy room.  It's coming along nicely, but needs quite a bit more before it's ready to show.  He loves it so far.  It is very "jungle meets scholarly dorm room in Scotland meets dinosaur times."  Sounds insane right?

Ok, I'm not one to get political or religious on here because this blog's not that deep y'all.  BUT I just have to share this.  On Monday, the pastor at my church had the honor of giving the sermon at the Inaugural Prayer Service.  Regardless of your political affiliation or religious beliefs, I think it's something worth watching, so I'm including the link at the top of my weekend links.  It is a really great message for how we can move forward as a country after this pretty divisive election.

Mary McDonald Interiors

This is the bathroom of my dreams.  If I could soak in that tub after a long day of toddler-wrestling and tense negotiations over new dinosaur acquisitions and suckers, well, my life would be perfect.  I try not to think like that, but I'm gonna let myself today.  I need a brain recharge.  The other night I put Edward to bed only to have him calling for me 45 minutes later.  That never happens.  I walked in his room to find I never actually turned out the lights! He was just looking at me like, "silly mommy, how am I supposed to sleep in the light???" I'm just wondering what he did for that 45 minutes before notifying me of my oversight.

The fabulous tub situation above is from my hero Mary McDonald.  She secured her place in my heart with her own house renovation on Million Dollar Decorators (see a video tour here and some great screen shots here).  Her bedroom made me want to cry, I loved it so much.  And now, she's gone and teamed up with Schumacher for a fab designer collaboration.  It's right up my alley and has me wanting to save up my pennies to use it all over my house.  My favorite is the Chinois Palais in Blush Conch.  But oh to get my hands on all of those fabrics.  It's so good y'all.  Sooo good.

Ok, enjoy your weekend y'all! I have lots of linkies below so grab some drinkies and go to town!

This is me.  Or mayybeee it's Kate Moss channeling Marie Antoinette at the Ritz Paris, I can't remember.  Thanks for all of your sweet comments the other day.  I'm sure I'll be back to my old self in no time.  Speaking of no time, there's no time to rest this weekend.  Kip is on a "let's get this house done" kick, of which I must take full adavantage before he gets back on the "no we can't do that right now Edward has to go to college someday" kick.  I love it when he nests, but I'm also glad he's there to keep me from pretending I'm Martyn Lawrence Bullard.  "Dahling we must get this delicious $10,000 velvet chaise for our dog."  Anyway, I hope y'all have a lovely weekend!

Oooops! Have a lovely weekend?

Hi, umm hmm, this is awkward. What happened to the week? I've been feeling a bit under the weather lately, and I've literally found it impossible to figure out what day it is on any given day this week, which is ridiculous, I know. But I'm pretty sure today is Friday. So I'll leave you with some links and hope you all come back on Monday. I have tons of design idea swimming in my head that I want to share. I promise.

P.S. How adorable is my Grandma Pat in that picture above??  One of my goals for 2013 is to complete (or rather start) a family gallery wall in our basement.  This picture will definitely have a spot.  It's so fantastic!  She passed away when I was in first grade, but I still remember her vividly.  She had a great sense of humor and when I first had Edward, I felt her with me all the time - like she was constantly in my ear telling me to enjoy myself and laugh it off.  It was sort of weird, but also lovely and incredibly comforting.  I know she would have loved being a great grandma, but something is telling me she's not actually missing any of this ;)

Ok y'all, enjoy these linkies and have a lovely weekend! Hopefully, I'll be a better bloggy lady next week!

I need that folding screen for my bedroom.  I have a long wall that needs some layer action to cozy it up.  That's my New Year's resolution, get more stuff.  Just kidding. It's actually the opposite.  I'm ready to purge this house of everything extraneous.  But that's for another post.  Did y'all have a Merry Christmas? We spent Christmas with my family in Dallas and were sick with colds and sore throats most of the holiday.  Boo! Luckily, The Suze has made a cozy home that begs people to just lie around on the couch all day.  So we indulged in some laziness by the fire for a couple of days.

We did have a chance to visit the new Perot Museum of Nature and Science.  It was pretty awesome.  I definitely want to go back! Even more fun, my brother set up a "date" for Edward, and I finally got to meet my Instagram friend Bianca and her adorable daughter Lou (and the rest of her awesome family)! Bianca owns Little Bean in Dallas, which has tons of fun toys and clothes and unique kids' stuff.  If you live in Dallas, you should go just on the off chance you get to meet her superfantastic baby Lou.  You can also check out their stuff online here and the store's blog here.  Anyway, we've been mutually admiring each other's kids on Instagram for a long time, but had never actually met, so it was definitely time and soo much fun! I could probably go on and on about it, but I don't want to be weird.

We have a full house again with my whole family at my house this weekend.  I'll try to be back to more regular posting next week.  Have a lovely weekend and enjoy some of these links!

Morning y'all! I found this Letter to Santa the last time I was home in Dallas.  I literally cried, I was laughing so hard.  My sister who is now in college at Alabama (Roll Tide, except when it affects Mizzou then M-I-Z) penned this hilarious admonishment.  It is so her.  She's very literal and has no tolerance for people not getting their work done, including the occasional unreliable elf.  In Santa's defense, this may have been a school assignment based on a hypothetical.  There's no way Santa was late getting to our house! Regardless, it reminds me what the Christmas season is all about: making sure Santa gets it done.

I hope you have a lovely weekend!

* Some of you may have noticed that earlier this week, I wrote (and then deleted) a post addressing a small kerfuffle that happened as a result of a comment I made on this blog. A comment, which in the context of this entire blog and outside conversations I've had, was obviously a joke.  However, to the person who may not read my blog, but happened upon the single post, this comment may have seemed catty or mean-spirited, which was not my intention at allI deleted the post because it's too silly to really devote any attention to.  That being said, I never want to be mean or hurtful on this blog.  Belclaire House is a place to read and discuss pretty houses, yummy food, baby fat rolls, puppy breath and the occasional toddler temper tantrum, and I hope to keep it that way

Have a Super Fantastic Weekend!

{my new Juliska Country Estate platter from The Suze}

{such a happy little snow scene, right?}

Morning y'all! Ok, call me crazy, but I started another blog.  I know, right?  It's a family blog for all of the family and friends we have across the country.  It's also for me because I have pictures scattered across three different photo web sites and this is actually a much more efficient way for me to keep all of the stories and memories in one place - important things like baby giggles and meeting the Cat in the Hat.

You see, every day I take a cute picture and/or video of Edward, and yes, it's overkill, but I feel the need to text said picture to various text groups in my phone.  Kip's family, then my family, then my friends, then Kip's extended family, etc.  I end up telling the same story four or five times a day.  Why not just send it to one big text group, you ask?  Because some people (The Suze) don't always pay attention to who's attached to the text, and reply to all something random like, "Hey, will somebody bring me a sandwich?" (that happened)  I'm not even kidding, one time she included the Dean of my sister's school on a text play-by-play of Edward getting his haircut with pictures.

So I created This Family Robertson to keep a record of our family.  It won't affect this blog at all.  I won't even be updating it every day.  It's definitely more personal and I debated about keeping it private, but I feel like that would make it harder on some of the family members who barely know how to get on the internets, so I'm keeping it open to the world for now.  If you love Edward or care about things we think are fun, but no one else will, you can check it out, but most of y'all will probably find it pretty boring.  Ok, just wanted to let you know in the most long-winded explanation possible! Ha!

Enjoy the rest of these linkies with some holiday drinkies:

Have a Fabulous Weekend!

Christmas Puppy Awesomeness

Morning Y'all! The weekend is finally here. I have a wedding this weekend that I'm very much looking forward to (Wilson Phillips and Bieber have been promised by the bride).   I also hope to get a head start on our family's Secret Santa gift exchange.  We did it a couple years ago and it was so much fun! This year we used SneakySanta.com to draw names, since we couldn't all be together to actually draw names from a hat.  It's great because you can include a wishlist with links to things you want.  My youngest sister was all over that ;)  We also have really involved rules, too.  See here:

And you HAVE to follow them or you get the award for Grinch who stole Christmas, and we all live in fear of that title.  We take pictures and make a book out of it and it makes for a great Christmas memory.  I think it helps ease the pain of not having any kids who believe in Santa anymore.  My youngest sister, Laura, let us believe she believed in Santa until she was 16, but once it became clear we weren't fooling anyone we had to find a way to bring back Christmas magic. Anyway, I hope y'all have a wonderful weekend! I included some links to some of the gift guides I came across that had things I would actually buy on them.  Enjoy all these linkies with some spirited drinkies y'all!
